AMHERST – The town’s Leisure Services and Supplemental Education department will open its new offices Wednesday morning.

Peter Hechenbleikner, the town’s interim town manager, said Tuesday that the public is welcome to drop by the Amherst Regional Middle School if they need to sign up for a recreational program or get information about an activity.

“Look for the school buses, that’s where you’ll enter the building,” Hechenbleikner said.

Temporary signs will guide people to the entrance and then to the offices, created in a 3,600-square-foot space following a more than two-month-long renovation, at a cost of $150,000.

Hechenbleikner said the town had planned to move furniture and supplies for the department Monday and Tuesday, but completed some of the move last week in anticipation of Monday’s snowstorm.
