Management at CVS Pharmacy, 76 North Pleasant St., called police at 7:33 p.m. Monday requesting assistance in removing eight homeless people from inside and outside the store. Officers advised the people to head to the Craig’s Place homeless shelter for the night.
An intoxicated woman suffered an injury to her head after the man she was panhandling tripped her in front of the downtown bars at 4:27 p.m. Monday. The woman, who earlier had been observed by passersby play-fighting with the same man told police she would consider pressing charges against him once she was treated and released from Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Cheryl A. Santagate-Sutton, 51, of Westfield, was arrested at 9:38 p.m. Saturday after a traffic stop on Park Street on charges of operating while under the influence of alcohol, a marked lanes violation and speeding.
