EASTHAMPTON – Three teenagers were arrested after allegedly robbing at gunpoint a female who was trying to buy marijuana from them on Oliver Street last week.
The three youths, all 17, were arrested on charges of armed robbery in connection with the incident about 8 p.m. March 20 at the end of Oliver Street. One of the boys was also charged with intimidation of a witness, according to a statement issued by the Easthampton Police Department. The three are not named because they are juveniles.
The female told police that she was in a van with the three boys, who were driving to meet a fourth person to purchase marijuana. The boys told her that they had to pick the drugs up from a house at the end of Oliver Street, according to the statement.
At the end of that dead-end street, the female and two of the boys got out of the vehicle and one of them held a gun to her neck, police said. They allegedly robbed the female of $270 in cash before fleeing in the van, according to the release.
The 17-year-old charged with robbery and intimidating a witness was arrested at 3:21 p.m.Wednesday on West Green Street The other two boys were arrested on warrant: the first at Hadley Juvenile Court at 10:45 a.m. Friday, and the other at the Easthampton Public Safety Complex at 2:31 p.m. Friday.
