The pitching staff of the UMass baseball team shut down Northeastern for a 3-2 victory, Tuesday in Boston.
Casey Aubin (win), Kevin Lacey and Evan Mackintosh (save) combined for eight strikeouts and scattered eight hits for the Minutemen (5-10).
Vinny Scifo and John Jennings each had two hits in the win.
Westfield 7, UMass Boston 6 — Connor Sheridan (South Hadley) had two hits as the Bombers (9-8) won on the road.
Amherst College 15, Springfield 7 — Amherst scored 12 straight goals to take a commanding 13-4 lead en route to the road win.
Kane Haffey scored four goals and two assists, while Connor Sheehan added three goals for AC (7-1).
Mount Holyoke 8, Puerto Rico-Mayaguez 1 — The Lyons (9-6) took momentum from a sweep at doubles to cruise in South Hadley.
