EMILY’S SONGS
Emily Dickinson’s enigmatic, rhythmically striking poems have long been a lure for composers looking to set her verse to music. On Monday at 7 p.m., the Emily Dickinson Museum will host a concert by the Valley chamber choir Novi Cantori, which will perform several songs, including some by Hawley composer Alice Parker, who has set Dickinson poems to music. Novi Cantori director Ellen Gilson Voth will also give a short talk about the approaches composers use to turn Dickinson’s poetry into music. Tickets are $10, $8 for members of the Museum. emilydickinsonmuseum.org.
