The Amherst Regional girls ultimate team won one of three games in the weather-shortened New England Open this weekend in South Hamilton.

After losing to Yale 10-6 and then Wellesley 9-8, the Hurricanes topped New York University 11-5.

Amherst coach Josh Nugent classified the tournament as a “tune up” for the squad who only started practicing a week and a half ago.

Josie Coppinger lead the team, Nugent said.
