The Amherst Regional boys lacrosse team picked up its first win of the season, beating Chicopee 10-5 on Wednesday on the road.

The Hurricanes (1-2) got a big game from Declan Gray-Mullen, who scored four goals.

Amherst jumped out to an early 4-1 lead in the game.

Junior Aidan Bass scored two goals with three assists, while Willy Wright added a goal and two assists.

Vance Canella and Daniel Lyra got in the scoring column with two goals and one goal, respectively.

Jake Hibbard made 11 saves for the Hurricanes.

Saul Blain (South Hadley) made nine saves in defeat.

Girls Lacrosse

Williston 11, Hotchkiss 5 — The Wildcats (1-0) won on the road behind four goals from Olivia Bonavita and two goals and three assists from Meg Szawlowski (Northampton).

Girls Water Polo

Williston 16, Choate 8 — Abbie Coscia had seven goals, while Liv Cuevas added four assists and three steals as the Wildcats beat the defending New England champion in their season opener.

Williston 6, Northfield Mount Hermon 3 — Julie Lord won No. 1 singles in Williston’s first win of the year on the road.
