Spring weather makes a reappearance Thursday, bringing with it a 100 percent chance of April showers, complete with thunder and lightning.

Western Massachusetts will see between a half and three quarters of an inch of rain, according to the National Weather Service in Taunton. Accompanying thunderstorms and patch fog are predicted along with the heavy rain forecast after 1 p.m.

The high temperature is forecasted to be 55 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. A southerly wind from 6 to 14 mph is predicted, with gusts as high as 28 mph possible.

An additional quarter and half of an inch of rain may fall Thursday evening, with a west wind ranging from 6 to 13 mph. The low temperature will be around 40 degrees. 

The National Weather Service issued a low risk of localized flooding of poor drainage areas, as of 8 a.m. Thursday morning, along with a low risk for strong south wind gusts.
