The defending Western Massachusetts Division 1 girls tennis champions got off to a good start in 2016.
Amherst Regional went on the road and beat Ludlow, 3-2, on Friday.
Allison McCann swept Filipa Martins, 6-0, 6-0, at first singles to pace the victory.
Amherst also earned wins by Margaret O’Connell at second singles and Nya Saunders at third singles.
