Sports writer Matt Vautour, in writing about the new UMass hockey coach, states, “The school is academically strong but not so restrictive that it drastically limits who can be recruited.”
Meaning what? That admission standards are different for athletes “worthy” of being recruited?
He may be right, but if so, on what does he base this assertion – what’s the evidence? If it’s there, it should be made public so that non-athletes will know that there may not be enough room for all of them as well!
