The Amherst College Gospel Choir, the UMass Gospel Choir, the Goodwin Memorial AME Amherst Area Gospel Choir and the Belmont AME Church of Worcester Gospel Choir (pictured) — they’ll all gather Saturday for a joint concert in the auditorium of Ware Town Hall.

Wait, there’s more. Helping the choirs to raise the rafters with song will be UMass Jazz Ensemble I and the Ware Jazz Ensemble.

“This is a huge event for Ware, and many people from Amherst will be attending,” reports the Rev. Randy Wilburn, minister of Ware’s Trinity Episcopal Church, which is hosting the event as a benefit for its Jubilee Cupboard.

“The Jubilee Cupboard is part of the Western Mass Food Bank,” notes Wilburn. “Last year we gave away 108,000 pounds of food to 8,000 families. In addition, we bought 11,000 diapers and continue to supply them for local families. We are also taking on drug addiction, which is killing many in our communities.”

Admission to the concert is by donation.
