For some time now, the “A” in “Calvin” has been missing on the Calvin Theatre’s marquee.
During local television coverage of downtown events the marquee has been conspicuously present in the background of the picture. It’s damaged condition would make one think the town is going to seed, giving the impression that other locations probably are in the same condition.
I should think the owner of the theatre would consider it a civic duty to keep his property in good condition, contributing to enhancing the city’s appearance rather than degrading it.
