Hampshire Regional softball pitcher Alexis Ferris has breezed through lineups in her first three outings this season.
Ferris earned her second no-hitter of the year with a 12-0 win over Longmeadow, Friday in Westhampton.
“I’m determined going into every game,” Ferris said. “But I didn’t expect this.”
Ferris struck out 19 Lancers and has 47 for the season.
“She is a seasoned pitcher and we are lucky to have her,” Hampshire coach Brian McGan said. “We are going to keep throwing her as much as possible.”
Ferris contributed on offense as well, going 4 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
“It’s nice to help myself,” Ferris said. “This is the first year I’ve been hitting.”
Danielle McGan had a double and an RBI, and Taylor Boutwell went 4 for 4.
Granby 18, Hopkins Academy 6 — Jordan Kennedy (3 for 5, five RBIs), Mallory Beauregard (2 for 3, three RBIs) and Emily Strycharz (three hits) led the Rams (1-3).
Macy Ring (two RBIs), Taylor Robbins, Bridget Lashway and Allison Markowski each had two hits for the Golden Hawks (0-3)
Pope Francis 11, Sabis 8 — Maddie Sutton went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI in a home win for the Cardinals (2-1).
Christine Winberg picked up the win in the circle, and added an RBI single.
Playing in her first varsity softball game, Rosie Brault had a single and two RBIs.
Northampton 8, South Hadley 6 (6) — A three-run homer by Anna Connly (four RBIs) powered the Blue Devils (2-1) over the Tigers (1-2).
Zoe Driscoll-Sbar added two hits, including a home run for Hamp.
Mikhaila Edge was 2 for 3 with two homers for the Tigers.
Frontier Regional 11, Pioneer Regional 5 — Sarah Meunier had two hits and three RBIs in a home win for the Red Hawks (1-2).
Lauren MacDonald pitched a complete game, striking out five.
Ludlow 5, Belchertown 1 — Margaret Dull gave up two earned runs, while Alexis Lajeunesse, Emma LaBlanc, Emma Sampson and Hannah Sugrue each had one hit for the Orioles (0-3).
Smith Vocational 40, Sci-Tech 3 — Maddisin Atkinson (eight RBIs) was 5 for 5 with a grand slam, a three-run homer and three singles for the Vikings (3-1).
Allie Kowalczyk (four RBIs) was 4 for 4 with a three-run homer and seven stolen bases.
Ware 6, Easthampton 5 — Olivia Downer went 4 for 4 for the Eagles (2-1) in a road loss.
Sydney Slattery added a three-run double in the seventh.
Westfield 13, Amherst Regional 0 — The Hurricanes (0-4) couldn’t manage any offense for pitcher Aliya Bartmon in a road loss.
On Thursday, Bartmon struck out 14 and allowed only one hit in a 7-1 loss to Palmer.
