TURNERS FALLS – Rock composer, lyricist and Northampton native Erin McKeown, who Playbill writes has accomplished “complex and specific lyrics filter through her clarity of melodic line and rebellious use of rhythm,” will be in Turners Falls at the Shea Theater Arts Center on Avenue A on Saturday.
McKeown will be In Song & Conversation with Monte Belmonte beginning at 7 p.m. There will also be a “Hamiton” – the Broadway play – singalong.
Hear some of your favorite Erin McKeown songs and get a preview of her new musical, “Miss You Like Hell,” which was recently featured in the New York Times and co-written with Quiara Alegria Hudes, Tony-nominated writer for “In The Heights,” Lin-Manuel Miranda’s first Broadway smash.
Since Belmonte and McKeown are huge fans of “Hamilton,” they, Ben Clark from Clarkdale Fruit Farm, Lori Holmes Clark, Jim Zaccara from Hope and Olive restaurant and designers Rob and Damia will lead a “Hamilton” musical singalong with selections from the Broadway hit.
