The Easthampton softball team used a little bit of pitching and offense to stay undefeated Tuesday, beating Smith Academy 13-1 in five innings.
Gabby Downer powered the Eagles (3-1) with two hits and an RBI in Easthampton.
Kadyrose Newman, Nicole Lewandowski and Sierra Rakevitz each scored two runs in the win.
Stephanie Therrien struck out five, walked three and allowed one hit in the win.
Freshman Erin Gilren had the lone hit for the Falcons, while Olivia Cavanaugh scored the lone run for the Falcons (0-3).
Northampton 14, Belchertown 6 — Anna Kerwood went 2 for 5 with a home run while also striking out nine and allowing seven hits for the Blue Devils (3-2).
Anna Connly was 3 for 4 with five RBIs and Abby Pelis was 2 for 5 with three RBIs in the win.
For Belchertown, Lexi Lajuenesse had three hits with two RBIs and Emma Leblanc (two RBIs) hit a triple.
Margaret Dull had five strikeouts for the Orioles (0-4).
Hampshire Regional 7, Minnechaug 2 — Katy O’Connor hit two two-run homers for the Raiders (4-0) in the home win.
The homers came in the third and fifth inning for Hampshire.
The runs gave Alexis Ferris plenty of support. Ferris struck out 12 and gave up two runs, the first against her this season.
Madison Philbrook went 2 for 3 with a double.
Hopkins Academy 16, Mahar 7 — The Golden Hawks overcame an early deficit to pick up their first win of the season on the road.
Hopkins trailed 6-1 after two innings, but scored 11 in the sixth to pull ahead.
Kelsea Cristoforo had two hits and three RBIs for Hopkins, while Greta Kurtz had three hits and two RBIs.
Macy Ring added three hits and a couple RBIs for Hopkins.
Seventh-grader Ally Markowski struck out four to pick up the win.
South Hadley 2, Amherst Regional 1 — Lexi Bogalhas had a double and a run scored for the Tigers (2-3), while Jaiden Plamondon also had a hit and a run.
Aliya Bartmon allowed two hits in the tough-luck loss for the Hurricanes.
Frances Brown had three hits for Amherst (0-5).
