SOUTH DEERFIELD — South Deerfield firefighters quickly put out a fire in a greenhouse on Eastern Avenue Wednesday morning.
South Deerfield Deputy Fire Chief Dennis Patterson said the fire broke out around 6:45 a.m. in the greenhouse at 54 Eastern Ave.
The owner was using a hose to extinguish the flames when firefighters arrived, and it only took them about 10 minutes to fully knock the fire down, Patterson said.
There was minor damage to the structure, and no one was injured, Patterson said, adding that he believes the fire was caused by a wood stove.
