I am impressed at how often Sen. Bernie Sanders has spoken out against corruption and injustice. His role has not been as a typical politician with an ample supply of  bromides and generalities, but as a deeply concerned and responsible populist senator whose unique vision of government service rests on fighting for basic freedoms, such as civil rights and social justice, economic equality, saving Social Security, rescuing the postal service from privatization and supporting  reforms to prevent banking  collapse.

In essence, his  image of being the protector of the common good is the secret element of his success in attracting citizen support. Whether or not he gets enough votes and delegates  to obtain the nomination, I  am proud of  who Sanders is and what he  stands for.
