Matt Huggett was clutch when the Northampton boys lacrosse team needed it most Tuesday.
The senior attacker scored the winning goal with 3 minutes, 8 seconds left on a feed from Henry Attias in the Blue Devils’ 7-6 victory over South Hadley in Northampton.
He also tied the game at 6-6 with 7:08 left on an assist by Evan Moulton. Huggett finished with four goals and an assist.
Attias scored twice, while Bryce Wall made 11 saves for Northampton (5-2).
South Hadley (2-5) led 6-4 after three quarters and 4-3 at halftime.
Pat Crotty scored three goals for the Tigers with an assist.
Northampton 21, South Hadley 4 — Three Blue Devils matched the Tigers’ scoring total in a road win Tuesday.
Megan McCarthy had five goals and four assists, Abby Baldwin scored five goals and dished out three assists, and Sophie Melcher picked up four goals and four assists.
Bridget Harrington made five saves for Northampton (7-0, 1-0 Valley Wheel).
Marley Medina led South Hadley (2-3, 0-1 Valley Wheel) with three goals, while Julia Miele scored one.
Hanna Kopec made three saves in the South Hadley net.
East Longmeadow 8, Belchertown 6 — Audrey Duhaime scored three goals, but the Orioles couldn’t hold a second-half lead on the road.
Belchertown (3-4, 1-1 Valley) led the Spartans 4-2 during the second half but eventually fell behind 8-4.
Kate Bowers, Sarah Fournier and Morgan Mathurin also scored.
All of Belchertown’s goals were unassisted.
Kailey Pacheco made seven saves for Belchertown.
Sabis 3, Belchertown 1 — Anthony Hosmer had 21 kills, but the Orioles lost the match at home 25-21, 13-25, 25-16, 25-20.
Drew Duquette had 26 assists, nine kills and five blocks for Belchertown (2-6).
Northampton 11, Four Rivers 10 (OT) — Claire Babbot-Bryan scored five times and assisted on the game-winning universe point to Julia Snodgrass.
The Blue Devils trailed by three for most of the game before rallying.
