Police are investigating a break-in to an office in a building on University Drive reported at 8:28 a.m. Monday. There were signs of forced entry, and police did not disclose if any items were taken.
Kate M. Gallivan, 37, of Florence, was arrested about midnight Monday on charges of driving while under the influence, violating marked lanes and negligent operation of a motor vehicle after police stopped her on Locust Street. Police said Gallivan was observed traveling 15 mph in a 30-mph zone, swerving in and out of marked lanes. She also struck a street sign before being pulled over, police said.
Gary J. Gregoire, 37, of Holyoke, was arrested about 7 p.m. Monday after staff at Newbury Comics, 38 Pleasant St., reported observing him via surveillance footage conceal two CDs (an Eminem album for $7.99 and a Young Jeezy album for $11.99) in a sweatshirt pocket and walk out of the store. Officers who recognized Gregoire said they arrested him when he was spotted nearby outside the store.
