Why not a dog park? Resolution of the use of Smith farm fields is coming. Although even I refer to the property as “the dog park,” it is not a dog park.
Granby has a dog park. Randolph has a dog park. Northampton does not have a dog park. It makes no sense that such a dog-friendly city has not committed space and resources for this.
We have Pulaski Park and other public spaces set aside and maintained for youth sports. But no dog park. I suspect part of the reason that Northampton does not have its own dog park is because dog owners want a large, open space to walk dog off-leash and give them opportunity to run and play.
I’d like that also. I’d like a dog park.
