The Frontier Regional baseball team ran into Jon Morrison Tuesday in South Deerfield.

The Red Hawks managed one hit against the Hopkins Academy ace in a 3-2 loss.

Brett Morrison had two hits, including an RBI triple, for the Golden Hawks (6-3, 1-1 Hampshire West).

Frontier got its runs in the sixth, when Jon Morrison walked two with a wild pitch. Morrison finished with eight strikeouts and five walks.

Noah Barnes pitched seven innings for Frontier (8-2, 0-2 Hampshire West) striking out five and giving up five hits.

Northampton 4, Longmeadow 3 — The Blue Devils needed only two hits to beat the Lancers on the road.

Longmeadow pitching plunked five Northampton hitters on the day.

Devin Kellogg had a two-run single in second inning for Northampton (7-2), while Will O’Connor added an RBI ground out.

Zach Brittain pitched into the seventh with six strikeouts before Hunter Salem closed the game for Northampton.

Gateway Regional 5, Lee 4 — The Gators walked off with a win after an RBI single by Joe Jones scored Tyler Heeter in Huntington.

Jayden Marge, Brian Battles and Brett Turban each had an RBI for Gateway (2-6).

Mohawk 6, Easthampton 5 — Brandon Bennett hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning, but the Eagles lost at home.

Shy Torres had three hits with two runs scored for Easthampton (3-5).

The Eagles gave up five runs in the sixth inning to Mohawk.

South Hadley 5, Belchertown 2 — Adam Pilachowski went the distance for the Tigers in a road win.

Pilachowski struck out four, gave up three hits and two earned runs.

Mario Oliveira had three hits and three RBIs for South Hadley (8-1).

Ethan Berry had a hit and two RBIs for the Orioles (6-3).

Mahar Regional 3, Smith Academy 1 — Despite two hits, a walk and an RBI by Ben Bruscoe, and a solid pitching effort by John Ferrara (seven innings, three  runs, four hits, nine strikeouts, two walks), the Falcons (0-9, 0-3 Hampshire East) remained winless.
