SUNDERLAND — There were no surprises in the Sunderland town election on Saturday, as every office on the ballot was uncontested.

Robert T. Duby was re-elected as moderator, David J. Pierce will return for another three-year term as Select Board member, and Jessica Marsh Wissemann was elected to a five-year seat on the Planning Board.

Wendy M. Houle, in her 18th year as town clerk, was re-elected to a three-year term.

Houle said 60 of Sunderland’s 2,348 registered voters, or 2.5 percent, showed up to the polls.

“It’s predictable. In some people’s minds, there’s nothing to vote for. The expectation is that the people on the ballot are going to win,” she said, adding that there were also no ballot questions.

Also elected to three-year terms were James Kowaleck, assessor; Judith L. Pierce, Frontier Regional School Committee; Michael A. Wissemann, Riverside Cemetery Trustee; Elizabeth Ann Berry, library trustee; David Michael Wissemann, library trustee; Justine J. Rosewarne, library trustee; and Kenneth L. Kushi, town park trustee.
