A woman called police at 6:49 p.m. Wednesday to report that the windshield on her vehicle was smashed sometime after 4 p.m. while it was parked at Mill River Recreation Area, 95 Montague Road. Police determined the windshield was struck by a hard object, though officers were uncertain if that object was a baseball from the nearby ball fields or a rock intentionally thrown at the vehicle.

Ryan C. Currie-Huggard, 35, a resident of Northampton Lodging, 129 Pleasant St., Apt. 34, was arrested at 4:12 a.m. Thursday after passersby reported he was lying in the middle of Pleasant Street — shouting, flailing and refusing to get off the ground, police said. When an officer attempted to pick him up, Currie-Huggard resisted, again dropping to the ground.  An officer pepper-sprayed him once, and Currie-Huggard cooperated, police said. He faces charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to police.
