All of the Frontier Regional baseball team’s runs came in the final two innings in a 7-6 win over Hopkins Academy on Tuesday in Hadley.
Seth Gewanter totaled three hits, as the Red Hawks mounted a late comeback.
Frontier (12-2, 4-2 Hampshire West) trailed 6-0 heading into the sixth inning before putting up three in the sixth and four in the seventh to pick up a win.
Noah Barnes got the save for the Red Hawks, while Nolan Muzyka had three hits and two RBIs. Brandon Bryant added a double and two RBIs.
Noah Scanlon-Dean hit a double for Hopkins (8-6, 2-4 Hampshire West) that just missed clearing the fence for a homer.
Jon Morrison had two this and two RBIs for the Golden Hawks.
Belchertown 1, South Hadley 0 — Jason French struck out five in a shutout that clinched a postseason spot for the Orioles.
Jonathan Ingram led off the seventh inning with a single, stole second and third and scored the game’s only run on an error.
Tanner Clark had two hits for Belchertown (9-4, 4-2 Hampshire West).
Alex Dragon and Justin Kleeberg each picked up two hits for South Hadley (13-3, 5-1 Hampshire West).
Smith Academy 6, Mahar 2 — Kevin Banas the batter drove in and scored as many runs as Kevin Banas the pitcher allowed.
The Falcons senior had three hits, two runs and two RBIs. He struck out 11 while allowing eight hits and no walks to earn the win.
John Ferrara had three hits and scored three runs for Smith (5-10, 5-2 Hampshire East), while Ben Bruscoe had two hits and three RBIs.
McCann Tech 2, Smith Vocational 1 — The Vikings (5-9, 4-7 Tri-County) scored the tying run in the sixth, but the first-place Hornets (12-4, 10-2 Tri-County) earned the walk-off win with a run in the seventh.
Manny Madera-Therrien (RBI) had two of the Vikings’ five hits. Ryan York (run), Kevin Wackerbarth and Mason Lewis each had one hit.
Wackerbarth struck out four, walked one and allowed one earned run on five hits in defeat.
Granby 14, Sabis 3 — Joe Bessette had a bases-clearing double in the third inning, breaking open a close game in a road win for the Rams.
Noah Bleakley homered in the fifth and went 2 for 4, while Matt Bleakley added two hits and three runs scored.
Tom Rezzani gave up five hits, three runs and struck out two in seven innings for the Rams. (13-2, 4-0 Bi County North)
Mohawk 8, Easthampton 2 — Jamie Ryan had three hits and two RBIs for the Eagles in a road loss.
Hunter Leveille added two hits for Easthampton (5-8, 2-4 Hampshire East).
Northampton 4, Longmeadow 3 — The Blue Devils took a 4-0 lead early and held on to beat the Lancers and earn a spot in the Western Massachusetts Division 1 Tournament.
Anna Kerwood survived four errors and five Longmeadow hits to earn the win for Hamp (10-6, 4-1 Valley Wheel). She struck out two and didn’t walk anyone.
Zoe Driscoll-Sbar had two triples, two runs and two RBIs, while Anna Connly added two hits and an RBI.
Frontier Regional 14, Mohawk 8 — Mindy Esposito, Kenzie Patterson and Ava Harper homered in a home win.
Esposito hit a two-run blast, and Harper had a three-run bomb in the bottom of the first for the Red Hawks (9-6, 7-3 Franklin).
Patterson’s home run scored three runs in the fourth.
McCann Tech 19, Gateway 0 — Gabby Dame had the only hit in a road loss for the Gators (3-12, 1-6 Bi-County West).
South Hadley 14, Ludlow 6 — The Tigers (4-11, 1-3 Suburban) trailed 4-0 after three innings but rallied for the road win.
Ari Williams had two hits and three RBIs for the Tigers.
Pope Francis 16, Ware 1 (5) — Krista Jasak had a double, a triple, a home run and nine RBIs as the Cardinals rolled over the Indians in a mercy-rule shortened five-inning game.
Mo Brown added two hits, two runs and two RBIs while Alexis Keough struck out seven in the win.
Putnam 10, Smith Vocational 9 (8) — Allie Kowalczyk (three hits) hit a double and drove in a run in an extra-inning home loss.
Maddi Atkinson led the Vikings (10-5, 9-3 Tri County) with four hits.
East Longmeadow 5, Belchertown 3 — Lauren LeBlanc led the Orioles with three hits in a home loss.
Felicia Verville, Tiffany Mann and Kailee Freitas drove in runs for Belchertown (2-13, 1-4 Valley Wheel).
Turners Falls 12, Hopkins Academy 0 (6) — Erin Tudryn had the lone hit in the road loss for the Golden Hawks (1-13, 1-9 Franklin).
Turners coach Gary Mullins, a Smith Academy graduate, won his 634th career game on Monday to break the Franklin County record for wins in one sport.
Hoosac Valley 9, Granby 6 — Sawyer Mahan had three goals but the Rams lost in Berkshire County.
Tre Demers and Nick Roberts both scored twice for Granby (5-8).
Nick Albers made 23 saves.
Northampton 15, West Springfield 2 — Henry Attias and Matt Huggett scored five goals each in a home win.
Evan Moulton added two goals, while Ian Shaw, Kyle Luzzi-Dundon and Jimmy Durfer also scored.
Ryan Heng had four saves, and Bryce Wall made two saves for Northampton (8-6, 5-1 Valley League).
Granby 13, Belchertown 11 — Mya Fillion made two of her nine saves late in a tie game to help the Rams secure a home win.
Kate Sarnacki scored eight goals, while Emily Whitacre had three for Granby (9-4).
Audrey Duhaime led Belchertown (6-10) with four goals, and Emma Jopson scored three times.
Kailey Pacheco stopped eight shots in defeat.
East Longmeadow 9, Northampton 8 — Sophie Melcher scored three goals but the Blue Devils (10-5) lost on the road.
Megan McCarthy added two goals and an assist for Northampton.
Bridget Harrington made 6 saves.
Belchertown 3, Putnam 2 — Anthony Hosmer powered down 29 kills and made six blocks in a 25-16, 23-25, 14-25, 25-10, 15-7 road win.
Drew Duquette added 23 assists for Belchertown (7-12, 3-7 East).
Northampton 14, PVPA 8 — Claire Babbott-Bryan and Julia Snodgrass had four scores each in the Blue Devils’ home win.
