The Easthampton softball team scored six runs in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh to pull away from Pope Francis, 12-4, Wednesday at Holyoke Community College.

Gabby Downer (two RBIs) and Sydney Slattery (three RBIs) each had three hits, while Kadyrose Newman (two RBIs) and Michelle McDermott (RBI) each had two hits for the first-place Eagles (10-6, 9-1 Bi-County West).

Krista Jasek (double, RBI) and Sydney Brosseau (RBI) each had two hits, while Amelia Haradon added one for Pope Francis (8-6, 6-3), which needs one win to qualify for the postseason.

Greenfield 17, Hopkins Academy 0 (6) — Taylor Robbins singled in the fourth but that was the only hit for the Golden Hawks (1-13) in the loss in Hadley.

Ware 23, Gateway Regional 7 — The Gators fell behind early and lost on the road.

Gabby Dame went 2 for 4 with two RBIs for Gateway (3-14, 1-6 Bi County West).

Joanna Arkoette added a hit and a RBI.

Monson 7, Granby 0 — Mallory Beauregard had two of the Rams’ three hits as Granby (8-8, 0-7 Bi-County East) fell at home.

Baseball

Central 7, Northampton 6 (10) — A single by Pat Grygorcewicz sent the game into extra innings on the road, but the Blue Devils (11-4, 6-3 Valley Wheel) couldn’t pull out the win.

Will O’Connor went 2 for 3 with a triple and two RBIs.

Tim Horton had two hits with two runs scored.

Hunter Salem added two hits with an RBI.

Smith Vocational 10, Dean Technical 0 — Matt Hewes struck out nine and worked around four hits and two walks to earn the complete-game win for the Vikings (6-9, 5-7 Tri-County) at home.

Hewes helped himself with a hit, two runs and an RBI. Kevin Wackerbarth added two doubles, a run and two RBIs.

Westfield 15, Amherst Regional 9 — The Hurricanes led 9-6 after the fourth innings, but the Bombers added six in the fifth and three in the sixth to pull away.

Will Budington’s three-run triple highlighted a two-hit, two-run, four-RBI day for Amherst (2-11).

Belchertown 6, Turners Falls 4 — The Orioles scored four times in the fourth inning and held off the Indians on the road.

Jackson Leduc had two hits and scored twice for Belchertown (10-4, 5-2 Hampshire West), while Carl Teschke had a hit, two runs and an RBI.

Boys lacrosse

Belchertown 15, Monson 4 — Grant Irving’s two goals and five assists, and Ray Langevin four goals helped the Orioles (6-8, 5-4 Suburban) roll over the Mustangs at home.

Ben Magarian (two goals, one assist), Aidan Lyons (two goals, one assists), Jack Medina (two assists), Adam Wordsworth (goal, two assists), Jackson Royal (two goals) and Justin Pendrick (goal, assist) each had multiple points in front of Christian Assimus (10 saves).

Granby 21, St. Mary’s 9 — Sawyer Mahan’s goal total almost matched the Saints’ as the Rams rolled in Westfield.

Mahan had eight goals and an assist to lead Granby (6-8, 4-4 Suburban).

Nick Roberts added six goals for the Rams. Tre Demers (three goals), Bailey Ortensi (goal, three assists), Collin Stearns (three assists) and Luc Chauvin (goal, three assists) all had at least three points.

Amherst Regional 11, Pope Francis 8 — Willy Wright scored six times as the Hurricanes (6-11) won in Springfield.

Aidan Bass and Liam Kelly each had a goal and an assist, while Declan Gray-Mullen, Will Borrell, Daniel Lyra each had a goal in front of Jake Hibberd (11 saves) for Amherst.

Trevor Crawford had a goal and two assists for the Cardinals (10-7).

Girls ultimate

Four Rivers 14, Northampton 9 — Claire Babbott-Bryan had six points, while Nell Sanders had two assists and Emma Landsman three defenses but the Blue Devils (9-7) fell in their last match before they host Pioneer Valley Invitational this weekend.
