2015-16 season highlights:Tied for the PVIAC South Division individual title with teammate Coriann Delaney and helped lead the Red Hawks to the team South Division championship. Qualified for the state championships, finishing 37th in the GS and 44th in the slalom.
Zera on the season: “I focused on improving my form. I worked hard to try and get my legs out from under me and keeping my body parallel to the mountain. … I wanted to stay motivated. Having Coriann right there was the push I needed to try as hard as I could every practice and every race. … One race I ended up crashing, getting back up and finishing in 11th place. I was proud of this race because I proved to myself that I was determined to do well and never give up.”
Coach Brian Delaney on Zera: “Without a doubt a great work ethic. Around the calendar work ethic for conditioning and keeping herself in the best physical shape. She’s a great student of the sport. She was very focused when she was getting feedback. Really was able to take that advice and put it into practice seamlessly. That’s an inherent talent that you can’t coach.”
