WARM & FUZZY MEMORIES

There’s something about watching a movie in the great outdoors. For me, it brings back memories of heading with my parents and sisters to the old drive-in theater in Hadley (I think it was on Route 9), already in my PJs, and armed with plenty of popcorn (made by Dad) and lemonade (made by Mom). So I’m loving that the Northampton Arts Council is offering flicks on a lawn — once a month for the next four months. I’m betting some more nostalgic memories will be made. First up: “Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure,” Wednesday, 8 p.m. Chapin Lawn, Smith College.

ANOTHER GOOD BET

Mo Willems says “The Thank You Book” will be the last of his Elephant & Piggie books. See a retrospective of the series’ illustrations at R. Michelson Galleries, 132 Main St., Northampton, through June 30. www.RMichelson.com
