YOU CALL THIS DEMOCRACY?

Jane Meyer’s “Dark Money” should be required reading in an election year in which a megalomaniacal business mogul masquerading as a populist is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. In her book, Meyer traces the rise of the Koch brothers, the billionaire Kansas businessmen who have spent over 30 years creating what’s essentially a private political bank providing unlimited funds for conservative, anti-government candidates, in the process shaping a government-by-plutocrat. It’s a riveting, but chilling read.
