As a divorced, single mother with multiple sclerosis, I am driven to show my child that no matter what limitations a person has, with hard work and determination, anything is possible.

Last semester, as a health science major, I completed the EMT-B course and passed my state and national exams to practice in the state of Massachusetts.

I am working towards becoming a paramedic through GCC. The programs and faculty are amazing, and ย ย  ย interesting too! I have been on the dean’s list every year since starting GCC two years ago.

The staff as Greenfield Community has allowed me to flourish as a student and I am thankful for the opportunity to continue my education in such a nurturing environment. I hope to serve my community in emergency medicine with kindness and compassion and share skills I have learned here at GCC. ย ย

In light of the opiate crisis, I feel as though an empathetic, non-judgmental EMT may make a difference in the day of an opiate addict, should they have contact with me.

My goal in my career is to take the knowledge and skills I have learned at GCC and apply them to real-world settings.

I hope to serve the community with dignity, showing respect towards all patients I ย ย  ย encounter. Iโ€™ll do that knowing I have had the best educators mentor me and that I am fully capable to handle anything that life, work and the world, throws at me.
