BELCHERTOWN — A 59-year-old Wilbraham man was found dead in a car on Barrett Street Tuesday afternoon, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. 

The  discovery of the man was reported to police shortly after 4:30 p.m. No foul play is suspected, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office. 

“This was determined to be an isolated incident,” Belchertown police reported on the department’s Facebook page Tuesday. “At no time did this incident pose a safety threat to the public.”

The cause of death will be determined by a state medical examiner, according to the DA’s office. 

Belchertown police investigated the death in conjunction with State Police detectives in the DA’s Office. Barrett Street was shut down for about four hours and emergency medical workers also responded to the scene.
