HADLEY – Three people were injured in a head-on car collision and taken to hospitals, including a 4-year-old girl, in Hadley Friday afternoon.

Police said 30-year-old Chicopee man and his 4-year-old daughter were traveling east on Rocky Hill Road near Stadium Storage at around 4:30 p.m. when their car crossed the center line and struck a sedan in the westbound lane driven by a 22-year-old Springfield woman.

The man and his daughter were taken by ambulance to Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton while the Springfield woman was transported to Baystate Medical Center, according to Hadley Police, who did not have details on their injuries Saturday.

“It was pretty much a head on at about 40 miles per hour,” Hadley Police Officer Jesse Green said.

Rocky Hill Road was shut down for about a half hour, Green said. Both cars were totaled and towed from the scene.

Green said the accident remains under investigation and that citations and charges could be issued when it is complete.
