PELHAM — There were no injuries after a homemade bottle bomb detonated in a mailbox Thursday morning, according to Massachusetts State Police.
At 9:35 a.m., police responded to a call at 113 Packardville Road after a resident reported a bomb in a mailbox, state police said Friday night. Trooper Michael Mazza from the state fire marshal’s office responded to the call.
According to the Pelham Fire Department Facebook page, an investigation found the substance was the result of a “homemade bottle bomb.”
According to the post, state police, the Pelham Fire Department, the District 4 Hazmat Team and an Amherst ambulance all responded.
The incident remains under investigation.
