Amherst
A woman told police at 12:56 p.m. Sunday that someone in Amherst placed a ball of tar on one of the tires on her vehicle, causing her difficulties in driving the vehicle. Police found no evidence the tar was put on the tire intentionally.
Police are investigating multiple break-ins reported to homes and vehicles Friday. At 9:16 a.m., a Puffton Village resident returned home to find a television set missing after she left the door unlocked. Two apartments inside a College Street building were entered through an open window at 2:50 p.m., with an empty purse stolen from one of the residences. Three unlocked vehicles parked outside a North East Street home were entered at 6:19 p.m., but nothing was taken from them. And loose change was stolen from an unoccupied home on North Pleasant Street at 6:42 p.m.
Jesse Marhefka, 24, of 71 Parsons St., Apt. 105, was arrested at 2:08 a.m. Sunday on Everett Street on charges of operating while under the influence of alcohol and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended or revoked license.
Valentin Abarca-Ayala, 45, of 4 Harrison Ave., was arrested at the Public Safety Complex at 10:26 p.m. Saturday on a warrant.
Richard M. Clifford Jr., 32, of Westfield, was arrested on Loudville Road at 6:58 p.m. Friday on three warrants.
