SOUTH DEERFIELD — A 46-year-old man was revived after suffering a heart attack and crashing his vehicle into a house on Thayer Street Sunday morning.

Deerfield Police Officer Robert Warger arrived about 10:30 a.m. to find a member of the man’s family performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him, according to the department’s Facebook page.

Warger deployed an automatic defibrillator from his cruiser, and South County Emergency Medical Service paramedics transported the victim to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. From there, he was taken to a hospital in Boston.

The man’s identity has not been released. The South Deerfield Fire Department assisted at the scene as well.
