AMHERST – Two men face charges after officers responded to an altercation between them at the Amherst Golf Club on Tuesday afternoon.
A 58-year-old Hadley man and a 60-year-old Amherst man are being summoned to court, each on a charge of assault and battery, following the 4:45 p.m. incident on the golf course at 365 South Pleasant St., said Detective Marcus Humber. The men were not publicly identified.
Neither man was in need of medical attention following the incident, which took place at the first tee, according to the Amherst Police log.
A representative of the golf course, which is owned by Amherst College, said Wednesday that he was unaware of the incident and whether it affected play.
