GREENFIELD — Access to food is one of our most basic needs, but for many that’s easier said than done.
On Wednesday, Congressman James McGovern, D-Worcester, who has made fighting hunger a cornerstone of his political efforts and was recently honored for his work in that field by the James Beard Foundation, will host a discussion at Greenfield Community College about how hunger can be put to an end.
The forum starts at 5 p.m. in the college’s dining commons. The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts in Hatfield and the Task Force to End Hunger will host the event. McGovern, the task force’s honorary co-chairman, will lead the discussion.
The event is free and open to the public, who are encouraged to share their experiences, concerns and ideas with McGovern and the task force.
