Tristan Szawlowski struck out seven over five innings to earn the 5-1 win for Northampton Mickey Mantle at Mohawk Thursday.

Aiden Chapdelaine had a double, a single and an RBI and RJ Safron hit two doubles for Northampton in the road win.

Northampton’s Christian Hodgson and Dillon Diemand each had a hit and scored a run.

Will Jordan pitched two innings of scoreless relief for Northampton. Between Jordan and Szawlowski Northampton gave up five hits.

Little League

Easthampton 16, Southampton 5 (4) — Eight runs each in the first and second innings gave Easthampton a 16-1 advantage en route to the win over Southampton in District 2 11-12 Little League Tournament pool play.

Justin Colpack hit a grand slam in the first inning for Easthampton.

Colpack went 2 for 3 with five RBIs in the four inning mercy-rule win. Matt Damon also went 2 for 3, scoring two runs and posting four RBIs for Easthampton.

Easthampton’s Ryan O’Leary struck out three and walked two over three innings to earn the win. O’Leary also went 3 for 4 at the plate with an RBI.

Easthampton is 6-1 in pool play.

Luke Enright and Gary Herman each had a hit for Southampton.

Southampton scored four runs in the fourth inning but could not close the gap and took the mercy-rule loss.

Amherst 10, Longmeadow 0 (5) — Liam Coughlin threw eight strikeouts in four innings to earn the win on the mound for Amherst in District 2 11-12 Little League Tournament pool play.

Coughlin also went 2 for 2 with two RBIs in a game shortened by the mercy rule. Alex Yu and Shire Thompson each had a hit and two RBIs for Amherst.

Amherst has a 6-1 record in pool play and is the top seed in District 2.
