AMHERST – Police charged a college-aged man with breaking into a North Amherst apartment and fleeing after being confronted by a resident. He arrested early Saturday morning, according to police.
Kyle White, 20, of North Andover, was arrested on Meadow Street on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following the incident reported at 2:41 a.m., said Detective Marcus Humber.
White allegedly stumbled into a home at Townehouse Apartments, 50 Meadow St., and took off running, He was taken into custody a short time later.
Nothing was stolen from the residence.
The incident was one of two break-ins reported during the weekend. The second was reported at 8:15 p.m. Sunday by South East Street residents. Police had no details about how entry was gained to the home or whether any items were stolen.
