WESTHAMPTON – The Planning Board on Tuesday will review a plan to construct a solar array on private land off South Road.

The plan is proposed by W.H. Bennett Inc., an electrical and energy contracting company based on Martha’s Vineyard. The board on Tuesday will review the proposal and set a date for a public hearing before it can take action.

The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall annex.

Planning Board Chairman Mark Schwallie said the company has proposed to install the array on wooded land owned by the Tracy family.

Tuesday’s meeting will allow the board and the public to learn about W.H. Bennett’s proposal. Comments from residents will be welcome during the public hearing, which Schwallie said he expects to hold in August.

Additional information about the company’s plan was not available Monday. A representative from W.H. Bennett could not be reached for comment.
