Drivers beware. Apparently one cannot park “outside the box” in Northampton. That is, when you park your car, you must be within the lines of the parking space.
I was not aware there was such a law, but, that’s beside the point. I was parked on Pleasant Street a few inches out of the space to give the car behind me ample room to pull out of its space behind my car into traffic.
I was the first car near a driveway (that I did not block). A good deed does not count. The reason for the ticket of $15 was “Not Parked Totally in Space.” And the city wonders why stores are moving out. Perhaps giving me a warning would have been more “city friendly.”
