AMHERST – Two 19-year-old men face underage alcohol possession charges following a motor vehicle stop in which a knife was found in their vehicle Monday night, according to police.

At 9:45 p.m. at the intersection of Triangle and North Pleasant streets, police stopped a vehicle after observing it being driven recklessly and crossing over the fog lines.

When the vehicle was stopped, a passenger in the rear switched seats and appeared to conceal an item, according to police. This prompted a police search of the vehicle, during which  a knife, six cans of Four Loko and a box of wine were found.

Detective Tina Knightly said men from Agawam and Shelton, Connecticut, will be summoned to court on charges of being minors in possession of alcohol.
