Northampton’s Jamie Kent recently came a few steps closer to a big breakthrough in the music world.
He was named the 2016 Durango/American Songwriter Sole Performer, his song “Changes” was used by the Boston Red Sox last season and RollingStone.com named him one of “30 Must See Acts” of the Country Music Association Fest 2016.
The eponymous single from his new album, “All American Mutt,” was just released, with the album itself due in October.
On Sunday, the Northampton Community Music Center is welcoming Kent home for a concert the proceeds of which will benefit NCMC’s scholarship program. Seating is limited so early arrival for the 7 p.m. show in the center’s recital hall is advised.
