THE MUSICAL LOOK PARK

Northampton’s Chris Collingwood, lead singer and key songwriter for power popsters Fountains of Wayne (they had a big hit in 2003 with “Stacy’s Mom”), is set to release his first solo album, under the moniker Look Park. It’s a different sound for Collingwood, with lots of layered keyboards, acoustic guitar and varied rhythmic support. He and his band, including local faves Paul Kolchanski, Philip Price and Dave Hower, will debut songs from the album, also called “Look Park,” Tuesday at the Parlor Room at 8 p.m. signaturesoundspresents.com

ANOTHER GOOD BET

Folk/blues icon Chris Smither was scheduled to play the Iron Horse late last year until medical problems sidelined him for a bit. But the veteran singer-songwriter and guitar picker is back in form, and he returns to the Horse Saturday at 7 p.m. iheg.com
