Luke Aldrich, a sophomore in the College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, St. Paul, Minnesota, has been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.
Kyle Moriarty received the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering Award for Outstanding Senior from Western New England University in Springfield.
Moriarty, a member of Alpha Lambda Delta and Tau Beta Pi National Honor Society, graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Jacob J. Ryan, son and stepson of James and Suzanne Ryan of Cummington, and son of Penny Whitney of North Adams, completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Ryan will be moving on to several months of education and training which will take him closer to the next phase of his career with the United States Air Force.
Bryan Delaney, a communication management and design major, was named to the spring semester dean’s list at Ithaca College’s School of Communications, Ithaca, New York.
Mira Vance, grade 10, was named a distinguished scholar during the spring term at Mercersburg Academy, Mercersburg, Pennsylvania.
Sean Edward Kelly of Cary, North Carolina, formerly of Northampton, the son of Cam and Mike Kelly, graduated with dual degrees from Elon University (engineering physics) and the University of Notre Dame (aerospace engineering) in May.
Kelly was named to the spring semester dean’s list in the University of Notre Dame’s College of Engineering. He also earned the Vincent P. Goddard Award for Aerospace Design, presented for the best design in the senior Aerospace Design course.
Kelly joined the Honda Aircraft Company in Greensboro, North Carolina, as a propulsion engineer early in July.

The national showcase of career and technical education was held in Louisville, Kentucky on June 22-23.
Skill Point Certificates were awarded to students who met a predetermined threshold score in their competition, as defined by industry. The Skill Point Certificate is a component of the SkillsUSA Work Force Ready System, a national assessment program for career and technical education.
