AMHERST – Food and drink were the active ingredients in two police calls on Sunday.

At 11:22 a.m., a Memorial Drive resident reported that someone dumped pancake batter near her mailbox and bushes, the third similar incident in recent weeks. According to logs supplied by the police department, the resident told police that trash has been placed on her property illegally for several years and that the pancake batter represents a continued escalation of the problems.

No suspect has been identified, said Detective Jamie Reardon.

In the second incident, at 8:37 p.m. Sunday, a man sitting outside Amherst Coffee, 28 Amity St., reported that a woman passing by dumped iced coffee on him.

When he asked the woman, who was not known to him, why she spilled the coffee, she told him she was off her medication, continued walking and didn’t apologize, according to the logs.

The man was not injured and the woman was not located, Reardon said.
