A 15-year-old Amherst boy will be summoned to court on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle following a traffic stop on West Pomeroy Lane at 3 a.m. Wednesday.
A town employee suffered a small bite to his arm from a dog while working on Woodside Avenue at 10:33 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Kamariah P. Jackman, 23, of Easthampton, was arrested at 1:37 a.m. Wednesday on charges of operating while under the influence of alcohol, failure to stop and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police said Jackman at first failed to pull over for an officer before eventually coming to a stop on South Street. The officer noted that Jackman had bloodshot and glassy eyes and also failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Daniel Delgado, 57, of Springfield, was arrested at 4:36 p.m. Tuesday on Conz Street on charges of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving an uninsured vehicle, a license plate violation and being a fugitive from justice. He told police several different stories about why was in the area and initially tried to provide a false name. Police learned there was a warrant for his arrest issued in New York. Police said Delgado had license plates on the front and rear of his vehicleย which he said he obtained from a junk yard.
Shelly A. Lafountain-Neuman, 50, of Florence, was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Tuesday at Tobin Manor, 56 Maple St., Florence, after police said she took a gardening tool from the hand of an elderly woman.ย Lafountain-Neuman was charged with assault and battery on a person older than 60.
