On July 7, 8 and 9, music lovers in our area were treated to a petite music festival that was three concerts long and stupendous in quality!
Presented by the Lyra Summer Music Workshop, a conservatory-style music camp for young people newly in residence this summer at Smith College, the guest performers and repertoire these concerts brought us were world class. Despite a long feature in the Gazette, the concerts were under-attended.
Then, last Friday, members of the Lyra faculty presented a concert at Smith’s Sweeney Concert Hall, a program including Liszt, Mendelssohn and Kodaly. This concert and three-night festival were not to be missed.
