NORTHAMPTON — Absentee ballots for the special municipal election Aug. 4 are available in the city clerk’s office.

The election will fill the at-large City Council seat left vacant by Jesse Adams, who resigned May 6. In a preliminary election July 7, voters narrowed the field to two candidates – Ward 3 City Councilor Ryan R. O’Donnell and Marlene A. Morin.

Voters who will not be in the area during polling hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 4 may vote at the city clerk’s office during business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., beginning Monday. Voters can apply for an absentee ballot until noon Aug. 3.

Ballots may be returned by mail or hand-delivered by the voter or a family member to the city clerk’s office by Aug. 4.
