RJ Safron hit a double and had four RBIs in Northampton’s 16-0 win over South Hadley on Sunday in the Pineer Valley Youth Baseball League Championship game in Deerfield.
Devontay Edmonds had three RBIs and socred three runs.
Ryan Long drove in two runs, and Nick Heafey had three hits and scored twice.
John Carey had two RBIs and a run scored.
Tristan Szawlowski threw a complete game and only allowed two hits and a walk with five strikeouts.
Jared Sudyka and Garrett Guistina had hits for South Hadley.
Next up will be the Western Mass Mickey Mantle Baseball Championship, featuring the PVYBL and John L. Sullivan league starting Tuesday.
Northampton 11, Frontier 1 — Safron had a hit and two RBIs, while Sam Shelffo ended the game with four consecutive no-hit innings Sunday in the PVYBL tournament.
Shelffo scored three runs and had two hits with an BI.
Heafey scored two runs and hit a double.
Christian Hodgson had a hit, an RBI and a run.
Matt Hildreth hit a single and scored a run for Frontier, while Steven Worthely added a single.
Northampton 6, Dalton 0 — Will Jordan threw a three-hit shutout, striking out four while battling swimmer’s ear Saturday in the PVYBL tournament.
He also hit a double with an RBI and scored twice.
Ryan Long had a single and a triple with three RBIs, while RJ Safron had two hits and an RBI.
Frontier 3, Easthampton 2 — Ben Listkowski hit a walk-off double for Frontier in the ninth inning Saturday in the PVYBL tournament.
Cam Barnes led off the inning with a walk, and Listkowski brought him around to win the game and end Easthampton’s season.
Matt Hildreth had a single, double and RBI for Frontier.
Kalen Evans pitched all nine innings, allowing two runs on four hits with 13 strikeouts.
Easthampton scored two runs in the top of the first inning.
Billy Mollison led off with a walk, then Liam Pitrat was hit by a pitch.
Jack O’Connell followed two strikeouts with a two-run triple.
Easthampton 9, Woburn 1; Easthampton 2, Woburn 1 — Easthampton won the Little League 10U state championship for the first time in history, winning back-to-back road games over the weekend to sweep the series.
Abby McClaflin hit two doubles Sunday, and Jocely Mettey went 2 for 3 with the game-winning RBI.
She also struck out nine and allowed only three hits in the clinching win.
Mettey pitched a one-hitter Saturday with 16 strikeouts.
McKenzie McCarthy and McClaflin each had three hits and three RBIs Saturday.
Kaelin Damon and Summer Collins each drove in runs.
Easthampton now advances to the regional tournament in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
