In Massachusetts there are over 1 million children ages 5-17. Proponents of charter schools state that there are 30,000 school-age children waiting for placement in a charter school.
If voters in November approve lifting the cap on the number of charter schools in Massachusetts, it means that 3 percent of children will benefit at the expense of the other 97 percent.
Those other children will be in larger class sizes with fewer resources.
We need to vote no on lifting the cap and end this two-tiered educational system.
